The Historical Commission is currently engaged in a number of initiatives focused upon preserving the community's past for future generations. These include the expansion of Middleborough's cultural resource inventory, drafting protections for archaeological resources and Indigenous history, protecting the community's distinctive stone walls and compiling an oral history drawn from the memories and recollections of residents.
Preservation Initiatives
The Commission is currently focused on several initiatives intended to further protect and document Middleborough's rich past. Among these initiatives are the expansion of Middleborough's Cultural Resource Inventory, drafting of protections for the community's archaeological sites related to its Indigenous past, developing proposals for the protection of the community's distinctive historic stone walls, and capturing the recollections and memories of older residents through an oral history project.
